Welcome Dr. Castillo to Madelia Health
Madelia, Minn. – Madelia Health is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Nicolas Castillo to our Madelia Clinic provider staff. Dr. Castillo is a primary care general practitioner and will see patients of all ages in his practice. In addition, he will see some patients in Truman at the Heartland Senior Living facility. He is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Dr. Castillo was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Chile in South America. After serving in the U. S. Navy during the Desert Shield Operation, he pursued his undergraduate degree in Florida at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, and at the State College of Florida in Bradenton. He then attended medical school at the Medical University of the Americas in St. Kitts-Nevis, West Indies. Dr. Castillo spent time in medical residency and graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) – Riverside Family Medicine, in Newport News, Virginia. Prior to joining Madelia Health, he practiced medicine at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, Wisconsin.
“I believe that successful patient care is based on a partnership between the physician and the patient,” said Dr. Castillo. “It is very important for the physician to respect patient autonomy, and to develop a relationship based on trust and respect to achieve the best possible patient care.”
Dr. Castillo and his wife, Ana, recently moved to the Truman area. Ana is a Certified Medical Assistant, and will be working in the Clinic in Madelia too. In his spare time, Dr. Castillo loves woodworking, fishing, and the great outdoors.
