What is Urgent Care?

Sickness can happen at any time. That’s why the Madelia Health offers after-hours care for patients that need non-emergency care after normal clinic hours. No appointment is necessary for Urgent Care at the hospital.

Same day appointments are available at the Madelia Clinic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Call for an appointment at 507.642.5200.

When Should I Go To Urgent Care?

Urgent Care services should be used for simple non-emergency visits with minimal tests or treatment such as:

  • Bronchitis

  • Congestion

  • Cold/flu/fever

  • Cough/sore throat
  • Small cuts/lacerations

  • Diarrhea
  • Ear ache

  • Infections

  • Insect bites

  • Minor burns

  • Nausea, vomiting

  • Rashes

  • Sprains

Please Note:
Urgent Care Services are provided based on the severity of the illness and the level of care required for the patient. In some cases, in order to properly care for a patient, an Emergency Room level of care may be required. When this occurs, the charges will reflect the change in treatment from an Urgent Care visit to an Emergency Room visit.

Insurance coverage may vary depending on where you receive care. Please check with your insurance company. If an Emergency Room visit is covered better than an Urgent Care visit, you may request an Emergency Room visit.
