The laboratory at Madelia Health is equipped with state-of-the-art methodologies and equipment to provide clinical testing and blood bank/transfusion services. The laboratory is a High Complexity Testing Laboratory and is accredited by The Joint Commission*.

Direct Access Lab Testing

If you do not have health care insurance, or if you have high insurance deductible and co-pays, you may find Direct Access to be an affordable way to get the information you need. No physician’s order is needed and no insurance will be billed.

Direct Access Lab is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way for you to receive lab tests. It is a health care resource that is open to the general public Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the lab at Madelia Health.

Outpatient Services

Do you have regular tests that need to be run? Most clinical testing can be done at our lab and sent to your provider for reading.

Occupational Drug Screen Collection Site

Employers that require pre-employment or drug screening can utilize the services of our laboratory:

COVID-19 Viral Testing

Please call ahead and make an appointment at our Clinic: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Phone: (507) 642-5200.

Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes before your test.

Drive up testing is done weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.. Call the Clinic to request drive up testing at (507) 642-5200. Results will take 48 hours.. Patients will receive a phone call and results in the mail.

Urgent Care/Emergency Room testing can be done on the weekends if ordered by a medical provider.
