Medicare and Insurance Resources

Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. are the experts on Medicare, and can help you with choosing a health plan that will meet your needs! The best way for you to access their services is by calling the Senior LinkAge Line. But, before you call, here is some information that is good to know:

• The Senior LinkAge Line hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Before calling, prepare a complete list of your prescription drugs and dosages. This will allow them to better assist with reviewing options. Also have your Medicare Card out.
• When calling the Senior LinkAge Line for help with Medicare, dial 1-800-333-2433 and press 2 to be routed to a Medicare specialist.

Minnesotans have several affordable health coverage options. Insurance coverage can be obtained through an employer, or you can purchase a policy from an insurance company, enroll in MinnesotaCare (Medicaid), or sign up for Medicare.

• Call a trusted insurance agent or broker for help reviewing options and choosing a new plan or purchasing a policy.
• If you have Internet access, use the Medicare Plan Finder to review options. You can actually enroll in a plan. Here is a link: https://www.medicare.gov/

• Call the different plans to get information about their provider participation and preferred pharmacy network. The plans can also assist beneficiaries with enrollment.
