Madelia Health is searching for Full Time Hospital RN’s to join our growing team. Shifts may vary from day/night rotation, evening/night rotation, or fulltime nights.

Position Summary:

  • The RN is accountable to for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of nursing care within the scope of their practice.
  • The RN provides care in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • The RN demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs for all age groups. The RN ensures quality and appropriateness of care for all age groups in the unit specific population to include neonates, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. They demonstrate an ability to incorporate knowledge of patient’s age, growth, and developmental level into the provision of care. The RN understands the range of treatment needed by patients of all age groups: newborn, pediatric, adult to geriatric.
  • The RN must have comprehensive: knowledge of nursing theory and practice, the ability to plan, evaluate, and organize, and the ability to interact with a variety of personalities, make decisions and exercise sound judgment.

Qualifications –

  • Must be a graduate of an approved educational program for Registered Nurses
  • Must possess a current license to practice in the state of Minnesota.
  • Experience preferred, not required.
  • Required Certifications: CPR and ACLS
  • Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications –

Required:

  • 2 years Operating Room experience, including pre/post/intra

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-op, post-op and intra-op care to patient.

Job Duties:

  • Providing and coordinating medical care for patients presenting to the emergency department and for urgent care services
  • Cross coverage of hospitalized patients required after hours, weekends and based on scheduling needs.
  • Documenting in the patient record
  • Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and patient education.
  • Performs advanced technical procedures including laceration repair, I&D, lumbar puncture, airway stabilization etc.
  • Maintains accurate, legible, and confidential medical records.
  • Clearly communicate with all caregivers, patients and family to ensure safe, high-quality care is provided
  • Focused on patient access as well as patient and family experience.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program

Madelia Health is looking for trained casual Paramedics to be part of our progressive ALS team.

Wages: We offer a competitive experienced base pay and an additional loaded mileage premium.

Facility: We have a purpose-built EMS station with 3 full bedrooms (with smart TVs), a full kitchen, in house laundry, living room with a big screen smart TV, patio with grill, and of course high speed Wifi.

Ambulances and Equipment: We have some of the latest high-quality equipment such as a Hamilton T1 Ventilator, HFNC, and the latest X-Series Zoll monitor with ETCO2 and SPCO capability. We have a LUCAS device (with a 2nd on order), Stryker Power cots (with auto load system), and two well maintained low mileage Type 3 Super Chief ambulances.

Responsibilities: Transports patients safely according to clinical and operational guidelines. Maintain knowledge of and comply with all relevant laws; regulations and policies, procedures and standards. Perform Advance Life Support procedures in emergent and non-emergent responses as needed. Document patient information in an electronic health record system. Online continuing education is required. We have a one weekend per quarter call requirement (paid).

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Paramedic licensure from MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board.
  • Valid driver’s license and DMV record that meet the Madelia Health insurability requirements.
  • Ability to safely move patients with the assistance of a partner.
  • Background study and pre-employment drug testing also required.

Other Perks: Uniforms and jackets provided, paid training with BLS/ACLS offered in house, you get to work with additional  EMS Clinicians and be supported by a progressive and expanding community hospital.
